Does anyone know what it means to transform data into log metric?

I am trying to do an assignment for my Stats class, and I am stuck. We are using the program mini tab and we have a data set. The second question asks me to transform data into log metric. I have no clue what that means, and I have tried searching google, wiki, everywhere, with no results. anyone able to help?? thanks!

I've seen the the "logarithmic scale" used a few times. It's basically used to measure a quantity in powers of a unit rather than the units themselves. It's just to make the data easier to visualize when they're plotted on a graph.

I would kinda need more details to help you, but here's a wikipedia article with some descriptions and visual examples (notice on the graphs that sometimes the scale on the axis is in powers of 10).
